Litigation Expertise

As attorneys in the Cayman Islands DLA advise and act in litigation matters involving trusts, insolvency (including company and mutual funds liquidation and restructuring), regulatory and compliance, debt recovery and enforcement, tracing and freezing of assets, insurance claims and confidentiality applications (predominantly for Banks and Trustees).

As advocates DLA regularly appear before the Grand Court, Court of Appeal and statutory tribunals on all matters and frequently instruct senior counsel. 

 In 2003 Stuart Diamond was appointed to the Utility Advisory Committee that advised the Cayman Islands Government on all aspects of the electricity industry.

In 2001-2 Stuart Diamond served as a representative of the Cayman Islands Government on a select legal sub-committee charged with negotiating the legal aspects of the introduction of competition in the Islands’ information and telecommunications sectors. This sub-committee negotiated directly with stakeholders including the former monopoly telecommunications licensee for the Islands and delivered competition in that industry sector in 2003.

Since 1999 Stuart Diamond has served on various Legislation sub-committees and participated in the drafting of the Electronic Transactions Law, the Misuse of Computers Law , the Information and Communications Technology Authority Law and the Electricity Regulatory Authority Law.

Stuart is a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands.
